Keep proof and invoices

Gather the invoices, warranties, contracts and documents related to the work done.

Note the dates, the rooms involved and the contractors’ contact details if you have them.

Describe the work accurately

Explain what was done and distinguish completed renovations from planned improvements.

Do not present work as certified or guaranteed without supporting documents.

Assess the effect in the local market

Renovations do not have the same effect on every property or in every area.

Compare similar properties and discuss the documented work in the context of the market at the time of sale.
